Diastasis Recti
Diastasis recti is a condition in which the large abdominal muscles separate.
Women often discover they have diastasis recti after they’ve given birth. It can result from delivering a baby with a high birth weight, going through multiple pregnancies, or even abdominal obesity. You might hear someone telling you to do this or avoid that, or even share horror stories they’ve read online.
The truth is that there is a countless amount of false information about diastasis recti that can leave you worried.
But, my goal is to provide you with all the correct information you need in order to help you understand what diastasis recti is, discover whether you have it, and provide you with the resources to heal it.
The Ultimate Guide to Diastasis Recti
The Ultimate Guide to Diastasis Recti is a blog post I wrote, with the direction of Dr. Molly Lechtenberg of Breathe, a Physical Therapy & Wellness clinic founded by two PT School classmates.
In this Guide I explain what diastasis recti is, what causes it, and even explain how to heal it.
Journey to Heal Diastasis Recti
I originally discovered I had diastasis recti with our second baby girl. And as soon as I discovered it, I began trying to repair it. Unfortunately, there’s a lot of misleading information out there about DR.
After our third baby, I was fortunate enough to find Dr. Molly Lechtenberg of Breathe. She and the rest of her colleagues in her practice help women heal their DR.
I invite you to follow my journey with Breathe as they helped me heal my DR.
As I go through my journey toward healing my DR, I will be sharing updates on my progress below.
If you live in or near Des Moines, Iowa, then I strongly encourage you to visit Breathe if you think you might have diastasis recti.
